Akshay Kumar had just three releases this year [PATIALA HOUSE in January, THANK YOU in April, DESI BOYZ in November], but the busy actor will have as many as five releases in 2012, starting with HOUSEFULL-2 in April, ROWDY RATHORE in June, JOKER in August, KHILADI 786 in Diwali and ONCE UPON A TIME IN MUMBAAI-2 [its release date is not finalized yet]. Of course, it's not wise to have so many releases in a single year, but Akshay defends his decision.
Says the charismatic actor, "A couple of films were slated for release this year, but got shifted to next year. Besides, I like to complete a film and move over to the next project pronto. I agree, it's not right to have a new film releasing every two/three months, but I don't like to delay my films or keep them on hold if the shooting is complete. I can't play such ruthless games for the sake of my career."
But the best part is that each of those belongs to diverse genres. Did Akshay plan it that way? Akshay states with utmost honesty, "I've never planned these things. Nor do I have a strategy that I need to work in diverse genres. These films were offered to me, I took them up, it's just a coincidence that each of those belong to varied genres."
